Extensions can be IP Phones or Softphones, located on your local network, or remote networks, anywhere in the world.

You can also setup virtual extensions that forward to any 10 digit number, such as a mobile phone.  Example: your desk extension may be EXT 105, and your mobile phone could be EXT 1105.  This lets you add your mobile phone to menus, transfers, etc, without having to give out your private mobile number.

Note: NebulaPBX is a phone system, not a phone service.  To make and receive outside calls, you need a Digital Phone Service Provider, like voiSip.  voiSip lets you share a single, multi line service plan, across your entire organization.

When your extension receives a voicemail, the cloud pbx’s built in email system instantly delivers notification to your email address. 

The email includes a .wav audio file attachment, so you can listen to the message from your inbox.

The system can also send an instant SMS alert to your mobile phone, with simple time, date, and CID info.  This lets you decide if you need to go check voicemail or not.

Use the intercom to instantly speak with an extension via their speakerphone.

Setup intercom groups, such as “sales group” or “all extensions” to instantly make announcements to that entire group.

Very handy for tracking down someone who’s not in their office, or for emergencies.

You can even intercom to users or groups of users at multiple locations.  

This can also work for sending info to shoppers in a retail environment.

Need more volume? Add a PA extension with a loudspeaker.  Great for warehouses and such.

Dial into your phone system and enter a PIN code to access a dial tone.  Dial a number, and you’re calling out on your office number, even though you might be a thousand miles away.

Let your agents know what menu option a caller chose, with a special ringtone, or by modifying the CID info, or by playing an announcement to the agent before connecting the caller though.

Example 1: You have 2 businesses, company A and B, with 2 different phone numbers.  Have different ringtones for each company.

Example 2: You have a menu option for Sales or Support.  If caller “John Doe” calls, you can prefix the CID to show “Sales: John Smith”, so you know he selected the Sales option.

Example 3: You have a menu option for English, Spanish and French languages.  A call comes in and selects French. You can route that call to a particular group of phones (ring group) that only includes your French speaking agent(s).  Then just before connecting the caller through, the system plays a short message to the answering agent, telling them the incoming caller speaks French.
